Farm Assistant & Retail Support Team
About the Role
Weatherlow Farms seeks a reliable individual looking for an engaging farm experience in beautiful Southcoast Massachusetts. The position requires hard work, enthusiasm, and discretionary decision making. This dynamic support role is multi-faceted and contributes to many aspects of the farm's different businesses units.
Farm Store Responsibilities:
Pack, invoice and stock store with weekly orders
Maintain store stock levels
Wash, sort and package eggs (seasonal)
Provide back-up to retail manager as needed (coverage, inventory, etc.)
Kitchen Responsibilities
Assist with packaging and labeling
Transport weekly kitchen offerings to store prior to opening
Pull product / defrost as needed
Advise on low inventory for packaging (clam shells, dog food, etc.)
Advise on low inventory for “always in stock” items
Wholesale Responsibilities
Pack, Invoice, Deliver wholesale orders
Maintain relationships with vendors
Freezer/Cold Storage
Maintain highly organized and efficient on-farm walk-in freezer
Product pick up from packing facility
Delivery & organization of product and pallets at off-site cold storage facility
Florals
Weekly deliveries to wholesale clients
Other
Provide occasional back-up care for livestock and dogs
Egg collection, feeding/watering of hens, dog feeding/walking, cleaning, etc.
Qualifications
Enthusiasm for working on a farm and promoting local products
Love of good food and beautiful flowers
Self-starter with a serious work ethic, able to work independently
Clean driving record
Ability to repeatedly lift 50lbs and work in cold environment (walk in freezer)
Compensation
Starting @ $18/hr
Hours
20-30 hours a week (flexible date & times)
Potential for full time employment for qualified applicants
