Weatherlow Florals Field & Greenhouse Manager
Our beautiful no-till cut flower farm is looking for an experienced farmer to join our small but mighty team! This role is perfect for someone looking for a long-term and stable position, and who is passionate about flowers. This 1.5 acre intensively cropped floral operation is headed into its tenth season, with dialed-in systems in place and established perennial beds, and we’re excited to grow the team to meet demands for our exceptional blooms. The flowers that this manager will steward are sold to wholesale accounts, floral designers, and retail accounts, as well as for on-farm retail and on-farm floral design work.
Schedule: this is a full-time and year-round position, with expected 25ish hours per week in the quiet season (Nov 15 - Apr 15) and 45ish hours per week in the high season (Apr 15 - Nov 15).
Compensation: this is a salaried position, starting at $48,000 annually, depending on the farmer’s experience, and what passions and skills they can bring to the team.

Responsibilities will include:
Learn and master all flower varieties in production: variety names, habits, characteristics
Follow seeding, propagation, and planting plans, and associated recordkeeping
Communicate with harvest and design staff on flower availability, timing, etc.
Manage seasonal field crew for the mid April through mid November high season, to execute the seeding, propagation, and planting plans for cut flower production. The manager will work solo at times, as well as alongside the seasonal crew, with tasks including:
No-till bed preparation and flipping.
Planting annuals + perennials.
Maintaining annuals: weeding, pinching, trellising.
Maintaining perennials: weeding, mulching, dividing.
Irrigation, foliar applications, amending.
Weekly crop assessment walk-throughs.
In concert with harvest and design staff, develop next season’s seeding and planting plans, incorporating info from past seasons, needs for wholesale and retail and events, etc.
Order, inventory, and organize all plant material for current season and upcoming season (seeds, rooted cuttings, plugs, bulbs, tubers, etc.)
