Floral Manager

About the Role

Weatherlow Farms, founded in 2014, is seeking an experienced flower farmer to manage its existing successful floral program. Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the business including agricultural, administrative and design duties.

Full Time salaried position starting at $62,500

35+ Hours (November to March), 45+ Hours (April thru October).

Agricultural duties will include:

• Inventory and order seeds, tubers, and other plant materials.

• Generate and execute seeding and planting plans.

• Direct crop maintenance, including irrigation and trellising and weeding and mulching.

• Organize and execute the harvest and post harvest handling of all florals, for wholesale, retail and design work.

Administrative duties will include:

• Manage and hire workers to assist with field and harvest and design tasks.

• Maintain current customer base, including wholesale and retail and event design accounts, as well as grow these bases.

• Organize and execute outreach to new customers through social media, newsletters, and other channels.

• Develop new, and maintain existing, online/ecommerce platforms for wholesale/retail.

Design duties will include:

• Organize and execute bouquet production for retail needs, on farm and elsewhere.

• Inventory, organize and order hardgoods for event design.

• Create floral design proposals for on-farm events and all associated client communication.

• Coordinate harvest for, and the creation of, all floral design work for on farm events.
